WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Democratic and Republican-led states are clashing over redistricting plans, with Texas House Democrats fleeing to cities like Chicago, Boston and New York to block GOP efforts. Meanwhile, blue states are pushing back, accusing Texas of trying to rig elections through gerrymandering.

This is the second time in four years Texas House Democrats have left the state to deny quorum. In response, Democratic-led states are opposing Texas’ redistricting plans and preparing to advance their own.

“If Texas and other red states want to move forward with their partisan power grab to rig the elections, we cannot sit on the sidelines,” said Rep. Pete Aguilar, D-Calif.

Both Republicans and Democrats have accused each other of using gerrymandering to advance partisan agendas.
