FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) - A man is behind bars in connection with the abuse of several dogs in Franklin County, according to Sheriff A.J. Tony Smith.

Jonathan Brannen, 37, is facing two animal abuse charges. The sheriff said another man, who has been arrested previously for hoarding animals, will also be charged soon.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff, animal control recently received a complaint about a possible animal abuse case.

Upon arriving at the property, deputies discovered that about 10 dogs were living in poor conditions, and one dog was dead.

“The dogs were not being taken care of, emaciated, actually,” Smith said. “[The] dogs were left in a really small camper. The environment they were in was really, really horrific.”
