Former Owen Sound councillor Ann Kelly has passed away.
Kelly served on Owen Sound City council from 1989-1997, and again from 2001-2003.
She was known for her lifelong commitment to serving her community, whether it was as a member of the local government, or through volunteering.
Kelly was recognized as the city’s Volunteer of the Year in 1992, and also received the Ontario June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Award for Volunteerism in 2009.
Her dedication to the community is remembered through the many projects she helped out with, including the Festival of Northern Lights, the Bells of Christmas, Santa’s Workshop, and the Kiwanis.
She was also one of the first people to give 100 blood donations through the Red Cross.
