BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Friday as heat indices may reach 108° or higher during the afternoon. Try to stay cool and hydrated when outdoors.

Despite the summer heat, it will be a beautiful Friday for many across the region. However, hit and miss thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon and early evening.

Highs will range from the low to mid 90s throughout the WAFB viewing area.

A stray shower is possible Friday morning but scattered storms are likely the second half of the day. A few storms may produce brief, heavy downpours and gusty winds.
