TWIN FALLS — A man charged after a multi-hour standoff with police on New Year’s Day is expected to plead guilty Friday to reduced charges, records say.
Tyrone C. Grigg, 51, was initially charged with kidnapping and three counts of aggravated assault on law enforcement officers after the standoff.
Last month, records say, he signed a guilty plea advisory in which he would plead guilty to one count of aggravated assault with an enhancement penalty, in which the names of four law enforcement officers are listed.
Both prosecutors and defense attorneys will be free to argue to a judge about an appropriate sentence, the plea agreement states. The maximum sentence is 25 years in prison, Twin Falls County Prosecuting Attorney Grant Loebs said.
Two change-of-plea hearings have been rescheduled
