PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man is set to spend more than three decades behind bars for the shooting and murder of an Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper along a West Valley freeway in 2018.

Isaac Damon King, 27, was sentenced to 35.5 years in prison for the shooting death of AZDPS Trooper Tyler Edenhofer and the shooting of another trooper.

The sentence comes seven years after the incident that led to Trooper Edenhofer’s death on July 25, 2018. Around 10:15 p.m. that night, several 911 callers reported that a man was walking in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Dysart Road in Avondale, throwing rocks at passing vehicles.
