(CNN) - Prices of the 99-cent AriZona Iced Tea cans may be going up due to tariffs.

Don Vultaggio, co-founder and chairman of the private company, told the New York Times that a price increase might be coming because of President Trump’s tariff on imported aluminum from Canada, which doubled from 25 to 50 percent.

The iconic tallboy cans have been held at the 99-cent price point for nearly three decades.

Vultaggio said he hates even the thought of raising the price after all this time.

The 22-ounce tallboys account for roughly half of the $2 billion that AriZona Iced Tea sells each year in its cans.

Vultaggio says he still hopes the tariff dispute can be resolved. However, if not, he said at some point, the consumer is going to have to pay the price.
