SPRINGERVILLE, AZ (AZFamily) — The policies, procedures and police officers of an eastern Arizona department are now under scrutiny for state standards violations.

Springerville Mayor Shelly Reidhead and Eagar Mayor Guy Phelps issued a joint statement on Wednesday announcing that the state Department of Public Safety is investigating the Round Valley Police Department , which covers the two towns that are about 14 miles from the Arizona-New Mexico border.

Specifics as to what sparked the investigation weren’t released, but the mayors said the Apache County Attorney’s Office is looking into possible implications involving multiple officers and the Brady List, which is a record of law enforcement members with credibility or misconduct issues.
