We’re learning more about the crash on State Route 347 involving a Stanfield Elementary School District bus yesterday .

State troopers who responded to the pileup crash at 4:43 p.m., an hour and a half after school let out for the afternoon, deemed the bus driver at fault in the collision.

“The driver of the northbound school bus made a left-hand turn onto Louis Johnson Drive, failing to yield to two southbound vehicles and was subsequently struck by both vehicles,” Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesperson Bart Graves told InMaricopa today.

“ There were approximately 30 students on the bus, five of which were transported to local hospitals for minor injuries,” said Graves.
