DENVER (KDVR) — City crews are repairing a major water line in Northglenn on Thursday evening and will be rerouting water to facilitate the work.

However, that means there could be a noticeable change to the water coming out of Northglenn residents' taps.

The city of Northglenn said the water is safe to use, even if its color, taste, odor and pressure have been impacted.

The city said that it will not run irrigation in city parks on Thursday night to reduce water demand and lessen the impacts to residents, and said that if property owners shut down landscape irrigation for 24 hours, the reduced draw would be appreciated.

"The rerouting will handle normal water use," the city stated, adding that there is no specific action residents need to take unless they encounter an issue.
