DUBLIN, Ga. — Nearly three decades after a life-changing car accident left him unable to speak or walk, Jason Braswell is making a remarkable comeback at a Dublin fitness center , inspiring staff and members with his determination to overcome traumatic brain injury.

"Why me?" was a question that frequently went through Braswell's mind following the 1998 accident that left him in a coma for 11 days and unable to speak for nine months.

"The mental aspect of it is what really was the worst of it because you have the memories of what you used to do," Braswell said.

He says he had to move past that mindset and focus on moving forward.

"You gotta look past that and forge ahead and you know your success depends on yourself and I had to rely on that," he said.
