An Oakland County mother has filed a federal lawsuit against Roblox, alleging the popular online game platform enabled predators to sexually exploit her 10-year-old daughter.

The plaintiff says Roblox Corp. has created a "breeding ground for predators" and it "prioritizes financial gain over child welfare," her attorneys said in a news release. She accuses the company of fraud and negligence, and is seeking an unspecified amount in damages.

The case was filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court's Northern District of California, by the Florida-based Dolman Law Group. The Roblox Corp. is primarily based in San Mateo, California, according to the suit.
