The Hawk Fire broke out in Acton on Thursday afternoon, quickly spreading in dry brush.
The fire, which started at about 3 p.m., grew to 80 acres within about an hour and is threatening structures, according to the L.A. County Fire Department.
Aircraft and ground crews were ordered to respond.
