LUFKIN, Texas (KETK) - The Twelfth Court of Appeals ruled to continue a Lufkin judge's temporary injunction blocking construction of a controversial RaceTrac gas station on Wednesday.

The temporary injunction to stop construction near the Crown Colony subdivision in Lufkin was handed down by 217th District Court Judge Bob Inselmann, in order to preserve the status quo in a lawsuit filed by the Crown Colony Improvement Association against RaceTrac in 2024.

RaceTrac appealed Inselmann's order to the Twelfth Court of Appeals in Tyler, asking the Tyler-court to allow them to resume construction on the gas station. The court's three justices, James T. Worthen, Brian Hoyle and Greg Neeley then examined RaceTrac's issues with the injunction.
