STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) announced last month that it will cease some animal intake operations due to overcrowding, while simultaneously organizing special adoption events.

The 30-year-old organization, which is currently supporting more than 1,000 adoptable animals across its three locations, has hit “critical capacity” for the first time in its history.

In response, the Staten Island ACC is partnering with Richmon County District Attorney Michael E. McMahon’s office for an adoption event this Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Staten Island Care Center in Charleston.
