LEXINGTON, Ky. — From destruction to recovery: A Frankfort business owner has overcome a stormy obstacle after April’s historic flooding damaged his three-year-old tattoo shop.

Floodwaters destroyed the inside of Chris Mays’ three-year-old tattoo and t-shirt printing storefront in downtown Frankfort.

Mays was determined to rise above the high waters, landing at his brand new space on Holmes Street. The grand opening comes less than five months after he lost about 95% of his business’s product and equipment.

“The water came up too high, and it pretty much ruined all the heads on my machines,” Mays said.
