CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A man has been charged in connection with the murder of an individual in Evanston in 2022, police said.

Dearius Williams, 20, was charged with aggravated murder while incarcerated at the Hamilton County Justice Center on an unrelated charge, according to the Cincinnati Police Department.

The new charge comes after police responded to reports of a shooting just before 6:30 p.m. on the 3400 block of Woodburn Avenue, where officers found John Wilson, 37, dead with a gunshot wound.

Williams is being detained on a $1,000,000 bond and is expected to be in court on Aug. 25
