PICKENS COUNTY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Pickens County Emergency Management Service now has a second ambulance to serve the residents of the county.
NorthStar pulled out of the county earlier in 2025 because of dwindling revenues, so the county had to find a way to replace the ambulance service.
The Pickens County EMS got off the ground in March 2025 with one ambulance. Now, a second to help cover those who need assistance.
“The second ambulance is housed in the Aliceville National Guard Armory, and so our goal is when the Carrolton ambulance leaves, the Aliceville ambulance will come to Carrolton and serve as the backup and serve the rest of the county,” said Pickens County commissioner Patti Fuller.
