REFORM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - An update for some neighbors in west Alabama as leaders work to fix an on-going water crisis .

Over the last three years or so, the water system crews in Reform have dealt with deteriorating pipes, a major freeze, and leaks, sometimes leaving folks without water.

Work has started on a 30-foot high water tank that will help solve the water crisis for some 1,500 people, which is the population of Reform.

The new water tank will be located on the highest point in Reform and Mayor Melody Davis couldn’t wait to talk about it.

“I’m just happy today,” said Mayor Davis.

The mayor was more than pleased because she says it was this story three years ago when she knew something needed to be done.
