BOULDER — The Mike Leach-isms still come out of Brett Bartolone’s mouth from time to time.

“Respect all, fear none.”

“Swing your sword today.”

The Colorado tight end room has heard them all from Bartolone, a former wide receiver for the late Leach at Washington State.

Even almost three years since Leach’s death in 2022, his legendary quotes still live on through those that coached or played with him.

“Every once in a while it’ll pop up, but they’re really good quotes and there’s a reason why not just myself but other people, they’ll use the quotes or those coaching points,” Bartolone said with a laugh Thursday.

Bartolone is entering his third year with the Buffaloes and his second in charge of the tight ends (he began as the wide receivers coach) after coming over with Deion Sanders
