PASCO, Wash. – Zachary N. Schwartz, 37, was sentenced in Franklin County Superior Court to 12 ½ years in prison for causing the deaths of three individuals, including a young child, while driving under the influence.

Schwartz pleaded guilty August 12 to three counts of vehicular homicide and one count of third-degree assault in connection with the deadly crash on December 27, 2024.

The crash was caused by Schwartz driving the wrong way on I-182 on Dec. 27 with a blood alcohol content of 0.106.

During the sentencing, emotional testimonies were heard from the victims’ families along with a person injured in the crash.

The injured person shared experiences of substantial pain and suffering caused by Schwartz’s actions.
