CHAPEL HILL, Texas — Thursday, Aug. 14 marked a new era at Chapel Hill ISD with the grand opening of a brand-new junior high school.
Seventh and eighth graders walked through the glass doors for their first day of school — smiles on their faces and hope for an amazing year ahead. When the first-period bell rang, the hallways came alive as students made their way to their classrooms, ready to begin the day.
“I was kind of excited. And then I was like, wait — what if it's small? But then after seeing how it was going, it like, came bigger and bigger, and I actually got really excited," student Cynthia Nelson said.
Principal Ashley Loyd said the excitement was electric as she saw everyone with a smile on their face.
"You come in and there's just something in the air. And so, there's nothi
