About 20 miles away from each other, Frederick County's pair of four-year institutions on Thursday were crowded with families, moving carts and cars that were packed to the brim with possessions.

Both Mount St. Mary's University near Emmitsburg and Hood College in Frederick welcomed first-year students onto their campuses during a hot move-in day.
