Central Missouri Humane Society is temporarily not accepting any new dogs at its shelter due to dog viruses.

According to a social media post Thursday, multiple dogs have contracted viruses in the shelter's population. To keep the animals at the shelter safe and to limit exposure, CMHS said it is suspending dog intake through Monday.

During that period, the shelter asked for the public's help to reunite lost dogs so they do not have to come to the shelter.

CMHS said it will be closing entirely Monday to do a deep clean.
