CLEVELAND, Ohio—A federal judge on Thursday sentenced a former Cleveland Veterans Affairs hospital driver to four months in prison for threatening to shoot three co-workers over her firing.
U.S. District Judge Donald Nugent also ordered Adrienne Smith, 63, to have no contact with her former colleagues and get mental health treatment during her three years on post-prison supervision. He allowed Smith to self-report to prison at a later time.
Smith said she had no intention of carrying out the threat but that she sought to scare them and make them “look over their shoulder because that’s a bad feeling.”
“It sounds like you’re still angry at these women and that you’re only sorry you got caught,” Nugent said.
Smith was fired on Oct. 27 for two incidents, including for yelling at her sup
