MARSHALL, Texas - Marshall city leaders discussed possible changes to the city's noise and nuisance ordinances at a City Council meeting Thursday.
According to Police Chief Cliff Carruth, the Marshall Police Department has received nearly 2,000 calls related to loud music, disturbances and large party over the last year.
One party in July where over 100 people attended spilled onto University Avenue and blocked traffic, delaying an ambulance that had to reroute around the crowd.
Though nothing was decided at the meeting, Carruth presented ideas to the City Council like stricter no-parking zones on streets like University and Lindsey to ensure emergency vehicle access.
