EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) -- A long stretch of construction along Highway 41 in Evansville could wrap-up around Labor Day.

INDOT says it's entering the final phase of paving Highway 41 from Diamond Avenue to the Lloyd Expressway.

Friday, crews will begin on the last layers of asphalt. INDOT expects paving to take about a week and then, all three lanes will re-open. There will also be temporary closures as paving continues down the road.

"We hope that seeing this project wrap up and open up and become three lanes again will show people why we have to go through a year or two of some frustrations," Gary Brian of INDOT said.

Work will continue on the exit ramp from southbound Highway 41 to Diamond Avenue. As officials celebrate this project nearing completion more attention turns to the Llo
