If you were hoping to one day take your daughter to Claire's and have her ears pierced just like you did, you might have a hard time in Lufkin. The jewelry and accessories chain stores have filed for bankruptcy and announced the closure of many stores nationwide.

The majority of Claire's locations in North America will remain open as the company finds alternatives to closing more stores.

Lufkin is not on the posted lists of Claire's closings, but the sign in front of the store in the Lufkin Mall states otherwise. The only Claire's in Texas formally listed in the recent round of closures is for an Icing store in the Mall of Abilene.
