Chalk up another win for the turtles and a loss for Big Gas. RaceTrac has been delayed once again in building its travel center at the corner of College Drive and U.S. Highway 59 in Lufkin.

According to the Lufkin Daily News, the Tyler-based 12th Court of Appeals upheld the July 2024 injunction halting construction.

"It is the opinion of the court that there was no error in the temporary injunction order."

Chief Justice James Worthen presented an 11-page opinion that overruled four issues. All of which confirmed that the Crown Colony Improvement Association, Inc.'s motion for the temporary injunction had merit, and they ordered RaceTrac to pay the appeal's costs.
