ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - ”They were literally watching me in the parking lot!"

Heather is a Roanoke resident who received a call Tuesday. On the other end was someone who claimed to be a Roanoke City deputy.

“We got a phone call yesterday about two o’clock that basically was telling me that I was served a subpoena for missing jury duty,” she said.

She was sent what looked like an official subpoena, with a real judge’s signature.

But that wasn’t all; she also received documents that looked like a gag order.

During the phone call the scammers shared personal information that made this seem legit

“It was served to my address, and they listed my old address from the house that I had sold,” Heather said.

“So I’m thinking, okay, well, that could be real, because I sold that house.”
