WASHINGTON — Wave Four of Fairfax County's Road Shark program yielded more than 12,700 tickets and warnings – including more than 750 speeding and 244 reckless driving citations, the department announced this week.
The new phase of the campaign registered a significant boost over Wave Three , which produced 8,433 tickets and warnings.
The "high-visibility effort continues to crack down on aggressive driving, promote safer roads, and prevent crashes," police said in a news release.
Both Fairfax County police and Virginia State Police are participating in the week-long efforts, which feature concentrated enforcement.
Wave Five will begin on Oct. 13.
