THREE SPRINGS (WTAJ) -- It's been a bare couple of years in Three Springs for Southern Huntingdon football, which has posted a 1-19 record across its last two seasons. But the program hopes the hiring of new head coach Fred Foster lights the Rockets.
Foster has not been on a sideline in some time, but returns as his full-time career as a school administrator heads for retirement. He inherits a program that's got bumps and bruises and a lot of young players.
Last year, the team started more than a dozen freshmen. While Foster says there are no "presumed starters" from last season, varsity reps for freshmen who rarely get them are invaluable.
