The Detroit Tigers came back from a 3-0 deficit to beat the Minnesota Twins 4-3 in 11 innings on Thursday night at Target Field.
The Tigers (71-52) play the Twins (57-64) three more times this weekend in Minneapolis.
Detroit failed to score in the top of the 10th, and Minnesota had a runner on third with one out in the bottom of the inning. But Austin Martin hit a check-swing tapper to first base. Spencer Torkelson fielded quickly and fired home to catcher Dillon Dingler, who applied a perfect tag for the game-saving out.
The Tigers took the lead in the top of the 11th when Colt Keith, placed at second to start the inning, advanced to third on a wild pitch by Erasmo Ramírez and scored on Gleyber Torres’ sacrifice fly.
