MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Madison East High School’s football program is one of the many to be hit by the blow of offseason adjustments.

Only their adjustments didn’t just come within this last offseason. The Purgolders have been under a rebuild year throughout the last two seasons, as when head coach Antoine Manning took the reins just one year ago, he had to build the program back up from scratch.

When their 2024 season didn’t come together as hoped and they concluded their year with an overall 0-9 record, Manning knew there was work to be done.

“The big thing was that we had a lot of young guys, about 80% of our team were sophomores,” Manning said. “The biggest thing (in the offseason) was for them to get bigger, stronger, and faster. So, were trying to grow, understand the offense and
