Catholics’ needs subsidiary to nation’s greater good

On June 16, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops made a statement of solidarity with illegal aliens, not the citizenry/lawful migrants.

By Catholic teaching, solidarity and subsidiarity co-exist to morally balance issues, subsidiarity prioritizing the first God-given concerns before solidarity. Thus, to be right-ordered, the bishops’ first priority is the welfare of the U.S. citizens, their flock, before aliens.

The following are moral actions adhering to the principle of subsidiarity taken by the Trump administration:

• Criminal aliens can self-deport with a sizable stipend at taxpayer expense.

• ICE raids of criminal employers exploiting illegal migrants with poor wages and working conditions, including children.
