BUFFALO, N.Y. — U.S Attorney Michael DiGiacomo has announced that Vishavpal Singh, 31, has been arrested following the seizure of 109 kilograms of cocaine while attempting to enter the U.S. at the Peace Bridge.

Singh, a citizen of India who was residing in Canada, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine. The charge carries a penalty of 10 years to life in prison, as well as a fine of $10,000,000.

According to prosecutors, on August 13 Customs and Border Protection conducted an inspection of the tractor trailer that Singh was operating. During the inspection, officers found boxes containing a total of 109 kilograms of cocaine. The boxes were allege
