BOISE, Idaho — The debate over the future of shooting sports in Eagle has reignited, with community members divided on whether the city should contribute up to $250,000 to help fund a private gun range.

During an open house Thursday evening, city leaders sought resident input on a proposal to donate to Crowfoot Range, an outdoor rifle and pistol facility under construction north of the Avimor community in Boise County foothills.

The discussion comes roughly a year after Eagle's own shooting park project stalled due to lack of funding.
