PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The monsoon was active for the second straight night, this time hitting the northern parts of the Valley on Thursday night.

Heavy rain, powerful winds and lightning came down on neighborhoods in north Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Surprise.

A flash flood warning was issued from Vistancia to Lake Pleasant and from Paradise Valley to Anthem and Cave Creek. They will expire around 12:45 a.m.

A gauge near the Loop 101 and Bell Road got more than an inch of Rain. The wind gusts have hit 45 miles per hour and knocked down a tree on state Route 51 near Bell Road.

This comes after some spotty showers hit parts of Scottsdale and Surprise, causing some wet roads and at least one spinout on the freeway.
