The Mashpee Planning Board met on August 6. During the meeting, the board granted waivers, allowing the installation of a new solar carport in town, discussed ongoing projects and opened the floor to public comment on a proposed wastewater treatment plan within conservation land on Gunters Lane.

Falmouth Road Solar Carport

Representatives from a proposed NextGrid project returned to the board to seek a special permit modification and finalize plans for the installation of a solar carport at 868 Falmouth Road.

Mike Pattison, NextGrid permitting manager, attended with Melinda Costello, team leader at Weston and Sampson. Costello had previously appeared at the board’s July 16 meeting, seeking two waivers for the project. Ultimately, the board continued the request, opting instead to seek a
