Registration for a local emergency preparedness training program is now open.
The program will be hosted at the Sandwich Public Library on Thursday, September 4, and will be hosted by William A. “Chip” Reilly III, emergency preparedness specialist for Barnstable County.
From 6:30 to 8 PM, Reilly will share “best practices for preparing for storms and floods during this Hurricane season,” the Sandwich Public Library wrote online.
According to the Sandwich Public Library, the program will teach attendees how to build an emergency kit, as well as tips for sheltering in place and taking care of loved ones following a storm, with special attention for how certain groups, such as older adults or those with disabilities, may need to take separate steps to prepare for natural disasters.
