According to Asotin County Fire District 1 (ACFD1), the Snake River Fire was contained by 7 p.m. on Thursday night, following the aggressive, coordinated efforts of both ground and air crews.

Officials stated that the fire originated in an area lacking formal fire protection, but quickly spread into the Blue Mountain Fire District (BMFD). With assistance from ACFD1, the City of Asotin Fire Department, Washington State Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Forest Service, BMFD mounted a swift response to the growing blaze.

According to ACFD1, a coordinated aerial firefighting effort played a crucial role in achieving containment.
