Two easyJet aircraft were involved in a ground collision this morning that saw their wings come into contact with one another. The pair of Airbus A320-200 narrowbody twinjets were scheduled to operate flights from Manchester (MAN) to Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport (CDG) and Gibraltar (GIB), but had to return to their gates.
While no injuries have been reported as a result of the collision, photos that have emerged on social media in the aftermath of the incident show that the top of one of the jets' winglets was clipped off by the impact. Operations at Manchester Airport were also brought to a temporary halt, but have since resumed.
