A Dumfries couple who have raised a staggering £75,000 in memory of their treasured daughter are preparing to take on their final challenge. ‌

Gary and Kirsty Jardine will trek a small part of the Great Wall of China just before their beloved Brooke would have turned 21. ‌

Their mission will start on August 25 and every penny raised will be donated to Young Lives vs Cancer Scotland . ‌

The charity provided the family with invaluable support after Brooke was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Gary, 54, and Kirsty, 56, said it helped them through “the worst time of their lives”. READ MORE: Dog finally finds her forever home after spending more than four years in Scots charity's kennels READ MORE: Firebugs cause tens of thousands of pounds worth of damage to Dumfries park
