COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s defensive tackle depth has been questioned throughout this offseason.
Projected starters Kayden McDonald and Eddrick Houston are expected to be close to or at All-Big Ten levels, but behind them, uncertainty lingers.
While discussing the unit Thursday, defensive line coach Larry Johnson introduced a newcomer who could factor into the rotation: freshman Jarquez Carter.
“He’s working hard to have an opportunity to get on the field,” Johnson said. “I think that’s the key. He has some things that we like.
“He’s doing really well. We’re still 16-17 days away to playing a game, so we still are in the process of building him.”
