STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The city Department of Transportation recently announced plans for roadwork throughout Staten Island, beginning the week of Aug. 18.

Both in-house and contract crews will conduct milling and paving operations in Community Board 1 and Community Board 2. Work crews will be active during both daytime and nighttime hours to complete the necessary repairs.

Residents should expect maintenance crews to be operating across multiple Community Boards. The Department of Transportation advised that temporary detours and street closures will be necessary in affected areas while the work is underway.
