AN NFL star has quietly retired this offseason.

All-Pro guard Brandon Scherff won't return to the NFL this season after a spectacular 10-year career.

Scherff was one of the top free agent offensive linemen this offseason, but he remained unsigned into preseason games.

His most recent team, the Jacksonville Jaguars have not made any confirmation that he retired from the league.

However, an article this month from the Iowa Athletic department referred to him as "having retired from playing this summer."

Scherff was inducted into the Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame, and spoke about his career in the aforementioned article.
