Woodland Joint Unified School District campuses are starting the year safer, brighter and more welcoming thanks to new Measure Y facility improvements.

Woodland voters passed the Measure Y bond in 2020 to improve schools and facilities. Thanks to the Measure Y bond, students and staff returned to schools on Aug. 13 with upgraded gates, fencing, security cameras, specialized emergency door locks, safer pick-up and drop-off areas, better ADA accessibility, and fresh paint for a more inviting look.

Ribbon-cutting ceremonies at eight schools— Plainfield, Woodland Prairie, Maxwell, and Freeman elementary schools, Sci-Tech Academy, Douglass Middle School, Woodland Adult Education, and Woodland High School — marked the official unveiling of these projects.
