LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - The Great Rivers United Way will offer several outreach opportunities next week to educate the community about the impact of their support.
United Way Week aims to provide insight into the organization's work.
Kicking off the week on Monday is a poverty simulation at the Radisson in La Crosse. In collaboration with the Rotary Club of La Crosse, the United Way will deliver an experience highlighting the daily challenges faced by those living in poverty.
"You're given an identity when you come in you don't have to make anything up you're told what you need to do as you go through your weeks," said United Way Executive Director Mary Kay Wolf. "Then there's a brief kind of a brief what did it feel like what did this do to you or how did this affect you?"
