A London automotive parts plant is shutting down, hurt by the extended closing of the Cami Assembly plant in Ingersoll.
Qualtech Seating Systems, a Magna plant, will shut down in October, the company said in a statement. The plant employs 49 people.
“Magna confirms it has communicated to employees at its Qualtech Seating Systems facility the difficult decision to cease operations and close the facility,” said the release from Tracy Fuerst, vice-president, corporate communications.
“This decision follows a comprehensive review of the business and fluctuating industry dynamics.”
Qualtech makes seating systems and supplies the Cami plant. The workforce at the Qualtech plant on Commerce Road, in the area of Highbury Avenue and Highway 401, has been as high as 300 in the more than two decad
