MADISON, Wis. -- A victim in the crash on U.S. Highway 151 was flown to the hospital via medflight for serious injuries, according to Madison police.
Madison police was dispatched Thursday night to U.S. Highway 151 at around 9:12 p.m. for a motorcycle accident.
Police and one witness said the motorcycle hit the back of another vehicle at a high rate of speed.
When officers arrived to the scene, they found the motorcyclist, a 23-year-old woman, lying on the road. She was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries via Med-Flight.
The other driver, a 28-year-old man, was cited for operating a vehicle without a valid driver's license.
The crash left northbound lanes closed for several hours, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
